Hi, my name is Martine, and I love teaching kids how to read. With some practice and the right instruction, I know your child can crack the reading code!
While I love the fast-paced energy of the classroom, tutoring allows me to give individualized attention to developing readers, something that isn't always possible in a classroom setting. As a special educator of nine years, a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist, and a certified Orton-Gillinghan instructor, I know how to design instruction to meet the needs of your unique child.
I offer personalized, private virtual tutoring lessons for elementary-aged students looking to improve their reading and spelling skills. My 30 to 60-minute sessions incorporate five key areas of literacy: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Students receive explicit and systematic instruction that follows a clear skill progression, with plenty of opportunities to build accuracy and automaticity in reading and spelling. I aim to create a safe, enjoyable learning environment that builds your child's confidence and supports their literacy development.
Let's set a time to discuss how I can best support your child's reading development!
